Just wanted to offer a plug for Coleville compost. I bought a second batch of Don’s Johnson Su this year and initial results are encouraging. I got exceptional germination across 18 different varieties of vegetable starts (600+ plants) after giving each seed a quick squirt of extract. For inoculating plug trays and 72 cell 1020 flats, I use 2 tblsp in 16 ounces of water and my “extractor” is a 1/2 gal milk jug shaken vigorously then strained thru a paint strainer. The 16 ounces gets diluted in an additional 1/2 gallon and applied with a lab rinse bottle. Excess gets sprayed onto perennials in the front of the house. Emergence was ahead of schedule and plant vigor is excellent. Totally different experience of average germination and marginal plant health when not inoculated. I even had 20% germination of unstratifed lavender seeds using the extract. Non extract treated had zero germination. You lavender lovers know what I mean
Obviously, they’ve figured out how to make good JSC and it makes a difference in my garden. I inoculate seeds per above and use a very weak aerated extract as a foliar a couple times a year.

This is a photo of the garden. The lush plants were planted with Johnson/Su compost from ColvilleCompost. The pooly looking plants did not get the inoculation.
